Salt water is not necessarily what most people want to drink when they are thirsty. However, in Guatemala exactly this is a popular beverage. Cimarrona is a highly refreshing spritzer that Guatemalans love drinking especially during the hot days of summer. Although salty water might not sound very appealing, this mixture with limes is surprisingly delicious and vitalizing. Whether you are sitting in a lovely café in Antigua’s beautiful old town, on the shores of Lago de Atitlán or even just on your balcony at home, Cimarrona will bring you that special summertime feeling and quench your thirst.
